Sneak Peek Of My Cisco Live 2018 (Orlando) Session (BRKCCIE-3001)

Mar 13, 2018

I’m thrilled to announce this will be my second year speaking at Cisco Live US (CLUS), and it would be great if you could join me for my session. Last year, it was awesome getting to meet so many of my readers and viewers in person, before and after the session, and if you’re attending CLUS in June 2018, I’d love to meet you too.

Also, I'm stoked about the session topic, which is my favorite topic out of all the Cisco technologies I teach, Quality of Service (QoS). Specifically, the session title is Quality of Service (QoS) for CCIE Collaboration Candidates, and the Session ID is BRKCCIE-3001. However, if you’re not a CCIE Collaboration candidate, please don’t be thrown by the title. I’ll begin by covering the basics of QoS and then dive deeper. So, even if you have only a casual interest in QoS, this session will have some great content for you too.

Interestingly, I did have to make a major pivot in my presentation. When first submitted, this session's proposal targeted QoS topics on version 1 of the CCIE Collaboration Lab. However, since that time, Cisco announced version 2 of the CCIE Collaboration Lab, which debuts July 23, 2018. As a result, the session attendees will include a group of people taking version 1 of the lab prior to July 23rd and also a group of people taking version 2 of the lab on July 23rd or after. To add value to both groups of attendees, I’ve updated the session content to cover topics from both versions 1 and 2 of the CCIE Collaboration Lab.

The good news is, there’s a good bit of overlap between the version 1 and version 2 QoS topics. For example, they both cover the fundamentals, such as traffic classification, marking, and queuing. The big difference is the inclusion of Cisco IOS-XE and AireOS QoS configurations for version 2.

The session duration is 90 minutes, and as you can tell from the following agenda, those 90 minutes will be jam packed with QoS goodness.

If these topics seem interesting (and dare I say… fun) to you, I’d love it if you could join me. Just check the Cisco Live Scheduler (when available) for the specific date and time.

Hope to see you there!
